Diaphonized "Eggbound" Parakeet Egg
Diaphonized "Eggbound" Parakeet Egg for sale! You will receive the Diaphonized "Eggbound" Parakeet Egg pictured! This Budgerigar Egg was found inside a deceased Parakeet. After the necropsy and speaking to others/doing research we have come to the assumed conclusion that this bird most likely died from a condition called a retained egg or being "eggbound". This can happen to birds such as chickens when the egg develops inside the mother, but the mother is unable to lay which often ends in fatality if untreated. The egg has been preserved in formalin and then it has gone through a chemical process referred to as "Diaphonization" which is a method in which the bone and cartilage are stained and the flesh is cleared in order to vividly display the skeletal structure! While there is no visible embryo the egg is notably a warmer tone of red/orange near the center. This little guy was processed in our studio from start to finish. You will receive the specimen suspended in glycerin with an anti-fungal thymol additive in the jar pictured. The jar measures 4.25” long.
Please note, This Parakeet passed away from natural causes in a wildlife reserve before being sent to us, we do not harm animals for our work.
The jar will be vacuum sealed in plastic for added protection against leakage. Once you receive it you cut the package open and its ready to be displayed!
