Hand carved found drift wood polished in seed oils over many moons with a real femur handle and a protective foot for indoor and outdoor travels. The femur is a nature cleaned and found Whitetail deer femur with a beautiful light patina. Hand chiseled into the wood are the younger futhark runes which translate the old Norse passage from the Vǫluspá which reads “Of old was the age when Ymir lived; Sea nor sand nor cool waves there were.” A reminder of the nothingness from which all has come and that all will return to, additionally the staff is adorned with three ìss runes summoning forth the primordial powers of the giants, of ice, death, and the mists of niflheimr. The entire piece measures 43.75” Long.
